History of zombies:

The legend of zombies came out of the Voodoo beliefs created by African people. In the west, people think that a dead person can be revived by a sorcerer and they remain under his control since they have no will of their own. While in the south they believe that a dead person can be turned into a zombie by a small child. It is also believed in some areas that witches can turn a person into a zombie by killing and possessing the victim’s body in order to force it to be a slave. However, these zombies are mainly under the control of a master, or they simply act mindlessly.
The period of time that we may call B.R. (Before Romero) the zombie as we know it did not exist. In films such as “white zombie” (1932), the first made up film about zombies,  lifeless bodies were removed from the grave right after burial and turned into slaves obeying the orders of a human master. Then with George A. Romero’s film “night of the living dead” that is now considered the beginning of the modern zombie. Romero bred the zombie with the vampire and created a ghoulish monster. In the “Night of the Living Dead” the Zombies are originally called “ghouls” it is not until 1978 when writing the script for “Dawn of The Dead” that George Romero claimed the word ZOMBIE. Along with “I am legend” directed by Francis Lawrence, the zombies are humans turned by a virus into scary creatures that kill all the livings. Unlike the zombies in Romero’s films, “I am legend” is way different in three things: first, they’re smart, second they live in dark places and the sun burns them. Third, they live in communities protecting each other.
The story of zombies is apparently like vampires, even if there are many similarities and differences between them, we can say that the zombies are the new vampires. Zombies hate the sun, they only walk in the dark, which is the same as vampires, they also turn people into creatures like them when they bite, and again it’s the very same thing.
